Metallica f@*kin' kicked our asses! It was a great show, lot of songs, fireworks during One, Lars and Kirk fucking around on each others instruments, awesome. They played Unnamed feeling, which was cool, too bad they left Bells out, which is one of my favourites. Godsmack had a decent show as well, a one point they got a second drumkit on stage, played by their singer and they would battle each other out on the drums, very cool. Pic's and setlist are up on Metontour, go check it out. If you ever get the chance to see them, do it, you will not be dissapointed. (aside from waiting outside, inside, between bands and for the bus to show up to bring us back to my car, but it was worth it.) Metal up our asses!!!

Thats cool, you're one of the very few I've heard enjoy a new Metallica show, and that's cool. That sucks that they left Bells out! Oh well... maybe next time!

Awesome. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've got mixed feelings about the "new" metallica performing. I haven't seen them live but I have seen various vids of them playing live. When they first started this tour I watched some of the vids on Met on Tour.com and I was unimpressed. It looked to me like they had lost it. but then when I watched the AMA performance of Frantic I was really suprised by the energy put out by James especially and that was the first time that I actually liked hearing the song frantic. So I still have some hope for metallica even without Jason. I guess we'll just have to wait for their next album to find out.

okay, so I'd be a liar if I said I was a fan of St. Anger (the album) but I do have to admit that if the repetition was gone, I would probably be more into it. I do like Frantic, my favorite part is that little riff James plays by himself in the beginning. and hats off to SUM 41 to performing that KILLER Metallica medley!!! Take it easy everyone!

Yeah this was really something, especially cause it was the first time I ever saw them, we were standing right up front, so that was really cool. Lars promised they'd come to Holland again June 21st next year, so I'll probably go again.

... you're one of the very few I've heard enjoy a new Metallica show... Let me add a few more: (just a copy of my last post in another forum) I saw Metallica four times this year - and the last gig (Cologne/Germany, Dec 16) was definitely the best one: they turned the arena (sold out, a boiling crowd of 15 000 people, shouting along St. Anger just as well as Seek & Destroy ) into their very own private living room!! Believe it or not, I enjoyed that even more than being at the meet & greet in Erfurt, 3 days earlier... ;D Except for those "Jason" moments, in the middle of Creeping Death, during Blackened and other occasions that used to be his turn to sing or play a solo - still feels like someone pours a bucket of ice water over me; and for several minutes I'm no longer a part of the audience...

I just watched the Metallica mtc icon thing. When they played creeping death in the medley they did at the end, that was fricken amazing.
