Hey Peoples So this is the thread where you musicians can introduce yourself. Tell us what your musical backround is, what you play, how long etc. So about me.....I primarily play bass but I also play guitar on the side for fun or for small projekts that I do. Currently, I'm working on classical and flamenco guitar stuff. I am the bass player for an awesome metallica cover called "Sad But True" (www.sadbuttrue-band.com) I'm the bass player for the High-School Jazz Band. I currently play Tenor Sax in the "wind ensemble" at my school although in the past I have played Clarinet and Oboe in school bands since 5th grade. I'm a Junior in high-school I've been playing bass for 5 years now and I absolutely love Jason and his bass playing (can you tell ) You can also post pics of your gear if you have any. So here's some pics and descriptions of some of my gear www.freewebs.com/bigmuffstudios/mygear.htmCheck it out and let me know what you think or if you have any questions ask away. Also if you'd like to show your own gear, I'd be happy to host a page for your stuff on my site for free. Let me know.

Hi, I'm (metal)Dirk from Holland, I just realised I've never really introduced myself (how rude.) Anyway, I'm 25 yrs. old and I've been playing bass for almost nine years now and also guitar for the past two years.
My favourite bands are Metallica (obvious), and(old) Guns N' Roses (Duff McKagan inspired me to play bass in the first place and was/is of huge influence on my style, as well as Jason.) I'm really looking forward to Velvet Revolver.
Currently I'm in a band called Titanium along with my brother who plays lead guitar, we play a lot covers from Metallica, GN'R, Sabbath, Ugly kid joe, Lenny Kravitz and a bunch of other old school rock stuff along with a few of our own songs.
I first started out on a Samick Precision copy which is now my spare bass, cause earlier this year I bought myself a real fender (usa) P-bass which I modified a bit with a Hipshot Xtender, Seymour Duncan Quarter pound pickup and straplocks. My amp is a trace elliot 715smc combo which sounds a lot bigger than it looks, great amp. I also use a Morley dual bass wah, and Boss pedals for compression, overdrive and chorus.
Guitar wise I've got an Epiphone goth Explorer which is a great guitar, a small but for now decent sounding Marshall VS30r, I see my guitar playing more as a tool for writing songs, I don't play guitar in our band so at this moment I don't need a bigger amp. And an Ibanez volume pedal (cool for swells), a crybaby and an old Arion delay.
I also use bass strings from Rotosound and Galli (which is an Italian brand I'm just checking out, so far they're really good strings, costing half of those roto's, so I'll probably stay with them), guitar strings from d'addario and Dunlop tortex 1.14mm picks for both bass and guitar.
That's about it.

I've been playing guitar for about 4 and a half years. I'm in grade nine. I have an Ibanez guitar and a V-amp pre-amp thing.

Hi everybody !!
I´m Alex from Spain and I play guitar from 13 years ago and also play bass guitar since 1996. I play bass guitar in two bands , Confussion (funk-rock) and Black Sun (Heavy metal covers) My gear is very simple...I have three basses : Fender Precission Lyte de Luxe , Yamaha BB500 (five strings) and a Fernandes (I don´t know the model..sorry).For amplification I use a Hartke HA3500 preamp and two cabinets , 4 speakers 10 inches and 1 speaker 15 inches.
For the funk rock stuff I use my Fender P , It sounds great for this style , wen I need to play some slappy lines I just need turn the high knob up and here it is.I also use my Yamaha five strings in this band wen I need some lower notes..
Wen I play Heavy metal covers I use my Fernandes , a very simple passive , four strings bass , but It gives me this heavy rock sound... I don´t use effects...I don´t like them...I allways play fingerstyle...but in my first band (thhrash metal band called Kaos?)I used to play with a jim dunlop pick...
