Hey, Loki I found some pics of Jason with his white rickenbacker bass, maybe you already have them but I wanted to let you know anyway, they're from metpage.org btw as you can see, they were made on two totally different dates, cause on the first pic he still has long hair.

Those pics are from the same day. Jason was wearing a wig in that first one as a joke LOL I think he was pretending to be Lemmy.... minus the mole

Actually let me rephrase that... it may not have been the exact same day, but you can tell he's wearing a wig and changed his clothes.

Looking at those pics better, I see you're right.
anyway, I thought Loki could use 'em, maybe he has 'em allready but I don't know.
speaking of pretending to be Lemmy, he even put up his mic real high "Lemmy style" as our singer refers to it.

Hey, thanks for the thought but I do already have those pics (can't get any by me can ya ) That's another one of those things on my ever growing to-do list for the website. Maybe when those cold winter nights start rolling in I can get some of that stuff done. But yeah, they were both taken on December 13, 1995 -- Metallica was doing a rehersal for a show with Lemmy (celebrating his birthday) on the next day. I believe Jason also played that bass at the show as a tribute type thing to Lemmy who always plays a Ricenbacker.

Yeah I know, these basses look awesome. btw, did one of you ever notice in some pics of Cliff's red 4001 there's a gibson style humbucker in the neck position instead of the small single coi, so maybe he had it modified by someone. here's a pic of the single coil and here's one of the humbucker Where did you get yours Loki, ebay? It looks really cool in that vid on metboard.

I think that fatter neck pickup is a single coil as well. See how there is only one set of those pole pieces right down the middle? I've seen other single coils on basses before that are super wide like that, and now... you can get humbucking pickups that are as skinny as single coil pickups. Pretty neat stuff, I say!

That one isn't mine. I'm keeping it for a friend who's on tour for the next six months. He didn't want to put it in storage for that long (big hot container + bass = bad news). So knowing that I was a fellow bass player, he let me keep it for that time. Along with 2 of his other basses: A custom Washburn fretless and a Takamine Acoustic ;D

Dude, that's pretty sweet. Usually people let me borrow some broken down, piece o turd new fender. or a good bass that wasn't loved enough and it went to poo as well... oh well.
